MERAKI REP

We are Meraki Rep., an artist collective based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. We are united by a passion for artistic expression across disciplines, ranging from content creation, creative direction, visual arts, fashion, and design to styling, street art, painting, sculptures, installations, and lifestyle projects. These practices are infused with the vibrancy and depth of African art and fashion, constantly evolving in rhythm with Tanzania’s cultural heritage.

For over six years, we have honed our skills and built an independent creative path that showcases our interpretation of African artistry alongside Tanzania’s flourishing art scene, bringing new opportunities for us as Meraki Rep, and allowing us to develop our unique artistic fusion. Our collective has featured work at prominent platforms like Swahili Fashion Week (2020, 2021) and collaborated in various projects in 2022. Additionally, celebrating Tanzania’s dynamic art and culture scene, Meraki Rep was highlighted in the influential “OFF TO” Magazine #3 Dar es Salaam, and showcased the first archival exhibition with Alliance Française in early 2023.

In 2024/25, Meraki Rep is focused on building a sustainable business foundation to establish the brand forward. Our goals include market research, understanding consumer behaviors, refining our brand identity, and deepening our community engagement through social media. This year, we also aim to expand beyond Tanzania, enhancing accessibility by creating a seamless online platform for purchasing our unique products worldwide.
