Alliance Française of Dar es Salaam is a Tanzanian non-profit association operating with the support of French Embassy. It is part of an international network of more than 1000 Alliances Françaises world-wide.
The Alliance Française of Dar es Salaam have two main missions:
- Promoting French language by offering French courses for the general public, training for local teachers and giving access to a multi-media library which is also a resource center on France, French speaking world and Europe.
- Offering free cultural activities (concerts, shows, conferences, exhibitions, projections, etc.) so as to facilitate cultural exchanges between French-speaking and Tanzanian artists.

BACKGROUND |
Alliance Française Dar es Salaam is an International non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the French language, to organize cultural and artistic events, and, on a broader level, to foster cultural and linguistic exchanges between Tanzania and France The event organizer will work under the supervision of the Director in collaboration with the Communication, Technical, and Accounting departments on the following tasks:

Implementing and organizing the logistics of cultural events programmed by AFDAR: following up on administrative, budget, and logistics matters for cultural events. 1/ Administration and budget

PROFILE REQUIRED
- Training and experience in cultural project management.
- Degree in project management or cultural management.
- Interest in culture, the French-speaking world and international cooperation.
SOFT SKILLS
- Autonomy, initiative, and a creative spirit.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team.
- Strong adaptability to an international and intercultural environment.
- Strong organizational and anticipatory skills
- Strong Organizational Skills:
Coordinators must handle multiple tasks, including scheduling, logistics, and venue management. Being detail-oriented is essential for managing timelines.
2. Creativity and Innovation
This role often involves coming up with unique ideas for events, themes, and activities to engage diverse audiences and showcase culture in new and exciting ways.
3. Cultural Sensitivity and Awareness
Understanding the cultural significance of events, respecting diversity. should be knowledgeable about different cultural expressions.

A coordinator needs to communicate clearly with artists, vendors, sponsors, and the public.
5. Networking and Relationship Building
Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including artists, cultural organizations, venues, and local authorities.

Unexpected challenges can arise. A cultural events coordinator should be able to think on their feet and find quick, effective solutions.

Leading teams, including volunteers, and collaborating with different partners to make the event run smoothly requires strong leadership and people management skills.
