Founded in 1961, the Alliance Française of Dar es Salaam is a French language and cultural center. Our institution is a Tanzanian non-profit association operating with the support of the French Embassy and the French Ministry of Education.

The Alliance Française of Dar es Salaam has two missions statements:
• Promoting the teaching and learning of the French language.
• Offering cultural activities to strengthen cultural exchanges between artists and organizing concerts, conferences, exhibitions, and film festivals for the whole Dar Es Salaam community.
